PROCEDURE FOR TREATING TOENAIL FUNGUS

Depending on the case, we cut, file and debride the affected nail. Then, we apply a specialized chemical, a mixture of nitric acid with phenol. This treatment is minimally invasive and does not burn the skin. However, it temporarily stains the nail while fighting the fungus.

In other cases, we can use a specialized laser to attack the fungus without damaging the skin and tissue. Unlike other topical treatments, laser light can penetrate the nail to reach deeply lodged fungus.

Before the procedure, we will file your nails to prepare them for the laser. The treatment is completely painless, but you may feel some heat or tingling during the laser application.
